Cocoon Retreat Center is situated on the breathtaking Atlantic coast of Portugal, near the charming fishing village of Zambujeira do Mar, in the Alentejo region, which is known for its long stretches of untouched coastline and charming white-washed villages.
Cocoon is the kind of place where each morning is a celebration, practicing under the canopy
of old growth pines, but so is each evening, with farm-to-table feasts, star-gazing, and good company.
Your Stay
Cocoon is a 275 acre farm + retreat, located just ten minutes from the beach on the wild and untouched coast of Portugal.
With chickens, peacocks, goats, sheep, a fresh water lake, old growth pines, and oversized hammocks for naps, Cocoon is a piece of magic on Portugal's untouched Atlantic coast.

Yoga
Cocoon has two yoga spaces. The indoor shala is spacious and airy, and the outdoor deck is perfect for morning meditations or restoratives, set under old Pine trees. A full collection of mats and props are available..
Morning classes will be invigorating and uplifting. After each glorious day, unwind with an early evening practices or after dinner practice which will be a slower, deeper dive including restorative yoga, pranayama, nidra, and meditation.
Food
Cocoon serves three nourishing and delicious farm to table meals each day. Coffee and herbal teas are available throughout the day. Food is sourced locally, either from nearby farms or Cocoon’s own gardens.

A typical breakfast includes eggs, local fruit, Greek yogurt, homemade granola, local honey, homemade jam, slow-rise bread, and a daily tonic.
Lunch is often a bowl; a base of ancient grains like farro, topped with avocado, roasted veggies, nori, or mixed greens.
For dinner, expect Indian + Japanese inspired curries, Mediterranean stews, and at least one of their famous pizza nights.

Twice daily yoga practice: a longer morning class to awaken and enliven; a late afternoon or post dinner practice to soften and ease you into the evening

Group hike along the southwest coast which is famous for its stunning coastal hiking trails.

Wine tasting at Vicentino Winery - a staple producer for the coastal region of Alentejo

Free time mid-morning and post lunch to explore the surrounding areas, from a dip in the freshwater lake, to lazing in a hammock with a book, or even exploring the nearby beaches for surfing and sunbathing.

3 locally sourced and delicious meals a day.

Teas, coffees, water, fruit and nuts are available all day.

Manduka Yoga mats, blocks, bolsters and straps all provided.

Pay in 1, 2 or 3 installments to help you budget.
Final balances due 8 weeks before the retreat.
We require a non-refundable deposit of 33% (1/3rd) of the total cost to secure your spot. (Deposit is non-refundable, and the retreat center has a strict no refund policy)

ROOM SELECTION
UNTIL JULY 1, 2024 - PER PERSON, TAX INCL.
Option 1: Double room with shared bathroom – This is a room for two people, with either one king sized bed or two single beds. You will share a bathroom with another double room:
$2450 CAD (after July 1st $2750)
(private/shared bath option available - inquire)
Option 2: Deluxe Double room with en suite bathroom – This is an extra large room with your own private bathroom and a quiet back terrace (this can also be a triple room, if you book together with two friends or we can help pair you):
$2850 CAD per person for double, (After July 1st $3150)
$2150 CAD per person for triple, (after July 1st $2450)
Option 3: Single room with en-suite bathroom – This is a room with a private bathroom and a king sized bed and back terrace:
$3550 CAD (After July 1st $ 3850)
*To qualify for Triple price rate, you must have a trio upon registration, we can support in pairing you up*
Please Note: Shared Bath means a common bathroom between two rooms.
Getting there
If you're coming from abroad, you'll probably come from Lisbon. Cocoon is about two hours drive south from Lisbon. Renting a car is your best option.
We will set up a google doc if you would like to be paired with other to share the drive and cost.
We have a list of rental car companies that we will provide to you as well.
From Faro, which is in the Algarve region, we're slightly closer. (Faro is where many low-cost European airlines fly)

Whatever your reason or intention for making the leap to join us, we hope that you can take this week, a week for you. To fully look after yourself through nourishing food, community, movement, breath, and rest.
There will never be pressure to show up to anything, truly we want you to take what feels right for YOUR experience, however that presents itself each day.
